Lavender and Lace

Our prompts for Friday's Hunt this week are the letter 'L', lace and favourite.
Lavender is abundant in my gardens, the hedge along the front is pleasantly fragrant and always full of bees.

Lace can be found on a fancy hat hanging on a door, a heart shaped wreath, the Irish lace gloves I wear to fancy tea parties and lace table cloths and toppers.
My favourite this week is the suction cup flower holder a friend gifted me in Florida. She had a couple on mirrors in her home that I admired and I've put mine on the side of a print hubby bought me years ago. He chose well knowing I'd like the pink rose and butterflies.
I'm linking with Teresa at Eden Hills for Friday's Hunt and Mosaic Monday.

  3. What a wonderful post! I have just returned from France and have never seen so many fields of lavender. And, oh my, the shop with their lavender soaps for sale was incredible. I can still smell it! Have a grand day!

  4. When the title is "Lavender and lace", your post can't be but wonderful. :)
All your lace items are lovely and I so wish our climate would allow growing lavender more easily. Such beautiful and inspiring mosaics!

  7. I can smell the lavender already. And were you the one who told me that a storm was on its way? It has arrived. Two inches of snow this morning. You are more accurate than our own weather ladies.

  15. Judith, the lavender photo is so pretty! I can't wait to see the lavender start to grow again and to smell its scent. We are under snow again, not much, and there is a blizzard coming on Monday. I guess winter isn't done with us yet and I'm glad spring is just about here as the weather will surely improve. I hope you have a nice weekend there. Pam

  16. The lavender is so pretty, Judith, and smells so good. The bud vase on your print is a fabulous idea! Most of our snow was gone and today we have a ground cover which will help to take away the old stuff. But, they are calling for a storm on Monday. I hope it isn't too tricky driving that day. Have a lovely weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  18. This letter is so you, Judith, and you've featured it well with your lavender and lace. It must be heavenly to smell the lavender in your own yard, and it must give you and inner calm and peace. The suction cup flower holder is such a sweet idea, and putting it on the picture that your hubby gave you makes it even more special. Happy weekend to you!

  20. Love the lavender photos :) I can't wait to see if my lavender comes back this year. A few of my plants started growing again in the middle of winter, and the lavender was one of them. I just hope they all survived those mistaken starts! Those lace gloves are something, and I kind of wish wearing pretty lace gloves was still popular (I completely missed out on that). Great idea for the bud vase, it looks perfect on the framed print. Have a great weekend Judith, I hope all that rain has moved along now.

  21. I just love lavender and that which my neighbor gave me last summer is getting new growth all over and I am hoping the blooms are more abundant this summer. It survived the winter and for that, I am thankful! The lace gloves are just darling and just perfect for a fancy tea party! I hope your weather doesn't get too bad :(

  25. Lavender and Lace are such a lovely pairing, evoking the elegance of days long ago. Your lace gloves are so pretty and would add a lot to a tea party outfit. The suction cup vase on the picture frame is a great idea - it could go on mirrors and windows, too. Have a great weekend!

  34. I love lavender, but I've never had any luck at over-wintering it. Lots of beautiful lace! I've never seen a flower holder like that before. Very cute idea! Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt.

  35. I love lavender! It is one of the few plants that does well in my garden here in Colorado. The deer and rabbits don't eat it and it tolerates the erratic weather changes we have. I remember a time all women wore white gloves for dressy occasions. Your lace pair are very pretty!
