How Time Flies!

I think my love of lavender must come from being a February baby. Our birthstone is amethyst and purple violets are the flower of the month. It has been my quest for a long time to find a teacup with lavender on it and while at the Wisteria Tea Room in Ft. Meyers Florida I finally found one.
Hubby and I went for lunch there one day and I had the savoury tea plate.
The plate included a cup of soup, savoury cheese scone, quiche and dainty sandwiches.
The box that the teacup came in...
and my new treasure that also has lavender coloured roses on it.
I also picked up a scalloped lid that will keep tea hot or protect iced tea in the summer from bugs. It adheres to the rim quite snugly.
I'm sharing the lavender coloured birthday greetings received from friend Eva living in the Czech Republic who reads my blog but doesn't have one herself.
It seems like I just celebrated my birthday and here it is again.
Life is good and I am grateful...

  2. Happy birthday, Judith! I adore your new teacup. Such a beauty! I have cousins living in Fort Myers. We visited when I was in high school and also had the good fortune to take a day trip to Sanibel Island. Hope you enjoyed your birthday.

  3. Happy Birthday Judith! I hope you have had a marvellous day. Your new teacup is beautiful and so you. Your lunch looks delicious and I'm sure it was. I trust you're enjoying the weather down there. We're having a fairly good winter compared to last year which was a nightmare that never seemed to end. By the time you get back everyone will be thinking Spring and I am so looking forward to it.

    Hugs,
    Sandi

  17. Happy Birthday wishes to you Judith. And what a lovely tea cup. I too, although I was born in the middle of summer, am drawn to all things lavender. (I think it is one of the reasons I first clicked on your blog - the name attracted me! ;-) )

  33. Happy Birthday Judith and the food on the plate looks delicious.
Your blue lid to keep tea hot is pretty and helpful. A Buddhist monk visits our home to chant a sutra every month. Just before the sutra ends, I prepare a cup of coffee for him. Sometimes the sutra is longer and the coffee cools down. I need to look for a pretty lid like yours!

  34. You found such a beautiful teacup with your favorite flower on it. I'm glad you enjoyed your tea outing. The lid is a great idea!

  35. The lavender tea-cup is so beautiful. I love lavender too and have several varieties in my garden. We have a tearooms which sells lavender products about an hour or so from here. I must say though that the lavender perfume in the tearooms became a little bit overwhelming. Enjoy your new teaset. Have a great weekend and thank you for the linkup and for stopping by my blog this week.

  36. Sweet Judith, Happy belated Birthday! I smiled when I learned you have a birthday in February... My mom, grandma, aunt-in-law, and Kitty {{smiles}} all have birthdays this month and all of these women are beautiful inside and out. You, dear friend, are just like these ladies so it's no wonder that you share this month with other delightful ladies. Hugs to you!
