Mosaic Monday #61- A Golden Autumn

The days may not be so bright and balmy—yet the quiet and melancholy that linger around them is fraught with glory. Over everything connected with autumn there lingers some golden spell—some unseen influence that penetrates the soul with its mysterious power.
~Northern Advocate~
Autumn is my favourite season as it begins with golden hues and later changes to fiery reds and oranges. The above photo was taken by my granddaughter Cassandra when she found a dead, but still beautiful golden-winged dragonfly. I added texture and a floral frame to soften the effect.
Golden arching sprays of 'Fireworks' goldenrod and a sassy 'Goldsturm' rudbeckia from my garden.
Roadside wild goldenrod and a wasp on one of the flowers.
Maple leaves turning gold and the fall colours of a dawn redwood at our local arboretum.
I am thankful to live in Ontario where fall is a season ablaze in colour and Thanksgiving in mid October is the peak when we travel north to be with family.
I don't write if often enough but wish to express my thanks for all who participate in Mosaic Monday. Without you, there would be no meme and we all live busy lives so it is greatly appreciated when time is taken to create a mosaic or two and link to the party.
Special thanks to the regulars who are here every week and welcome to new comers.
Please try to visit a few other participants, everyone is so talented and would love a few comments on their effort.

Welcome to Mosaic Monday

  7. Wonderful fall there Judith...the trees are still not so anxious to put on their fall colors yet. And my goldenrod is almost all gone, but the remains are still lovely. Love the opening shot...was that done in Picmonkey? I am always inspired by your mosaics! You are a wonderful hostess for MM! Thank you....

  9. Gorgeous! My favorite time of year. I miss the change of color -- we don't get that here. Lots of rain this week that will keep the temps lower. Cloudy skies so I missed the moon. Happy Fall and Thanks for hosting.

  10. I love the Fall colours but today is wet and gloomy, not able to see the moon last night because of cloud cover. There are some leaves falling, but not a lot of noticeable colour yet.

  20. Love those golden flowers and leaves!! And that dragonfly is enormous!! I really like what you did with the photo. I have a sneaky wild goldenrod peeking out from my garden this fall too, a beautiful shade of yellow :) We headed north on the weekend, but the colours were only just starting up there, so a bit disappointing for photos. I'm linking up with Mosaic Monday, but will have to visit others later this evening. Have a great day Judith!

  26. Hi Judith, The first photo is truly lovely. It looks like it's from a magazine or greeting card. I like all of the yellow, especially your wasp and goldenrod. I too like the colors of autumn, although we probably don't have as much orange and red as you do in your area. We are heading to northeast Iowa in a couple of days, hope we get to see some color but think we might be a bit too early for that...very little color change here yet. Hugs, Beth

  43. Your photos are stunning, especially the dragonfly. I also enjoy the pretty little patterns that you use i between the photos. Mr. Stripey tomato is an interesting one, it we are thinking that we like the heirloom varieties the best. This has been our best year for tomatoes. Have a good week, Judith.

  44. I came back to see if I had ever even made a comment this week...no, I had not. Just having a difficult time and our desktop has been at the Geek Squad a week today, so my little magazine laptop, is all I have had. Your autumnal colours are jso wonderful. We do not have any colour at all as we have had very little rain, until this week, so fingers are crossed we shall see some colour here soon. Happy weekend Judith~

Your area is looking like the autumn sights I love, so colorful . Our area is not , but the evenings and mornings are crisp and cool and I love it .

One of these days I am going to try to post a mosaic of things I love on my blog, but for now I enjoy looking at the creative mosaics of the bloggers who link with you. Thank-you !
