Mosaic Monday #58 - Reflections

A happy Labour Day Monday to my Canadian friends...a sure sign that summer is coming to an end and autumn is around the corner.
Our daughter and family just spent a week camping at Grundy Lake Provincial Park and I decided to create a mosaic on her behalf since she's a good photographer but unfortunately not a blogger.
It was this early morning sunrise she captured with two people in a canoe that prompted the title of 'reflections' for today's post.
More reflections by the turtles in the water and a personal one of 'what does this trumpeter swan want?' It and it's mate followed them around she thinks, begging for food.
My own captures of reflections...much of what you see on the left is trees above our pond and the little purple blurb at the top is the lavender fairy's reflection that sits on the waterfall. Easier to distinguish on the right are the trees, clouds and blue sky in the water. Oh yes, the frog on the lily pad, he's quite the fisherman! Baby fish swimming by and rippling the water are on the end of his long tongue flashing out in no time for a yummy dinner.
An update on the black swallowtail caterpillar - it's been in the chrysalis stage for a few days now. This is the best I can do for a photo as it attached itself to the netting right by the zipper. I realize now I should have had some tall plant stems in the castle and will remember for next year. Keep your fingers crossed that the butterfly emerges.

  1. Hello, Judith!
Both your daughter's and your own photos are very beautiful. The sunrise is lovely and the photo of the trumpeter swan very interesting. Our beloved whooper swans are the Eurasian counterpart of your trumpeter swans. The green frog, however, is the cutest of all. :) A gorgeous photo!
Thank you for hosting MM! Have a great week ahead!

  12. Your daughter has caught some fabulous scenes - as have you. Love the reflections - and the Swan especially. Are they migrating down already - or are they year long residents?

  27. Your daughter is a talented photogrpaher, Judith. I love the photo she took of the sunrise and the two people in the canoe who are in the sun's glow on the water. That is just lovely, as are her other photos and yours.

PS:I do hope you visit Colorado one day--today's post is from NYC, but I will son be showing more areas of Colorado which are outstanding for their natural beauty.

  28. The photo of the sunrise is gorgeous. There have been so many beautiful photos on the internet of the sunrises and sunsets this past couple weeks. They say the colour is due to the forest fire smoke from out west. I enjoyed your reflections as well. It's so hot here again today but I won't complain as it's probably the last really hot day we'll have until next summer! Have a good week Judith.

  38. Very pretty picture of the canoeists on the golden path. That trumpeter swan does look rather peaked. Yes, eager to see what happens with the chrysalis.

  39. Your daughter's pictures truly are beautiful. I especially love the canoe in the sun's reflection. That is indeed what I have heard called "frame-worthy" .

Your pond looks so peaceful, even in reflection, and the little frog almost looks as if he was purposefully posed there.

  41. Hi Judith, I missed the mosaic this week. Just too busy and had company when I usually blog. I am sure that the butterfly will emerge. We wonder how they manage to stay alive as they morph. I'll return next week with a lovely mosaic--or I will try at least.

  42. Hi Judith, The sunrise photo is amazing! Kudos to your daughter. How interesting that the swans were following them around. One does see wildlife begging for food in tourist locations. Looking forward to seeing your butterfly. Hugs, Beth
