Mosaic Monday #37 - Country Life

My photo woes have become easier but still complicated with the Mac update of iPhoto to just photos on my laptop. My albums did survive the transition but rather as events and I'm still in the progress of deleting hundreds of unwanted photos and reorganizing. But that's OK, in the end I'll have condensed and made a better system so for this week I'll share a couple of past mosaics showing life in the country where I live.
Our rural area is made up of pocket villages surrounded by farmland of crops and animals.
I live close to Lake Simcoe and on any given day there are many hawks in the air searching for a meal in the fields along the roads. Osprey and loons are common birds seen near or at the lake.
Please note that Mosaic Monday will now be capped at 50 participants. It has always been a small meme of friendly bloggers sharing their creative photography and I like to visit and comment with everyone over a few days.
Personally I'm not fond of the big blog parties with oodles of participants, they lose the closeness of a smaller group and the whole idea of visiting each other.

Welcome to Mosaic Monday
Link the Url from a post containing a mosaic or collage about any subject.
Please link back to this Mosaic Monday post so that your readers can find other wonderful mosaics.
Linked posts not including a mosaic nor linking back to Mosaic Monday will be removed in fairness to other participants.

Thank you for participating and sharing your creativity!

  14. That is good your folders were still there, just under a different name. Lovely mosaic this week, as always.

  15. The presentation of the bird mosaic is stunning. The idea of using collages is wonderful way to enhance the meme.
Keeping the meme contained is a good move. As they say, bigger isn't always better. I'll be disappointed if I miss the mark from time to time but it won't stop me from stopping by to view.

  27. Thank you Judith for Mosaic Monday 37. I've been wondering how you made the circle collages. I found Photo Collage and that does squares and rectangles that can be manipulated but not circles. PicMonkey is great for editing making regular collages.

  28. Hi Judith,

What gorgeous landscapes and country 'folk' you are surrounded with! I look forward to exploring Ontario's beautiful countryside this spring/summer, as I am due there in a few weeks time to decorate my sister's new home, see family and friends, and of course, spend quality time with my daughter.

Thanks so much for hosting and wishing you a lovely week in those gorgeous vistas!

  29. Oh your countryside is just wonderful. I love all the scenes. I'm glad you are making progress on your photo sorting - such a big task. I agree with limiting the amount of blogs - I always find it overwhelming if there are hundreds of blogs, like I cannot possibly get around to all of them, though I try. Thanks for your work here - I'm sure everyone appreciates it.

  35. Your area looks very peaceful, Judith, with those beautiful fields full of flowers and crops. I always enjoy seeing farm animals grazing.
I am usually babysitting my granddaughter all day on Mondays so I find it hard to link up and comment on other blogs till late in the day or the evening, so I hope you cap at 30 blogs will not effect me, but I do understand your position. You have to do what is best fro you as the moderator. Hope the change works out well!

  39. Dear Judith
I'm very fond of the countryside too as I was brought up in a small country town.
Your area looks like a wonderful mix of farming.
I'm looking forward to seeing fields of sunflowers when we visit France in June - hopefully we're not too early.
I agree with you about the large parties - small is best and allows time to visit as many as possible.
Good to hear you are progressing with your photos!
    Happy gardening

  43. I like your country. My daughter warned me th Apple as shutting down Iphoto; thus, I have not up dated my ipad or my mac. I hoping that the reviews are good or the new system. My daughter has no figured out how to migrate her photo library to her new lap top. As for roses, I will ask whenI buy new ones if we can plan below th graft. I have lost roses befor, but not enmasse. Very discouraging. Finall, I hope thatI can make the 50 cut. I tend to be slow. Have a great week.

  48. I have to face the photo thing myself one of these days! You live in a beautiful area, wish we had some more open spaces around us. So peaceful and calming.
And good for you for capping your party -- there's no way to visit everyone when groups are so large!

  49. Hi Judith, oh, the photo thing...ugh! So a night mare for me. I just got a new laptop and don't want to drag over eveything, so I need to sort and figure out what to keep and where! Love you photos. I have been gone, so will not post photos on your link but am enjoying your friend's posts.

  50. Country Life is a great theme for Mosaic Monday! And my hat is truly off to you for your tenacity in getting your photos organized once more as you like them. (Mine are in one gigantic folder by dates, so I just have to try to remember when I took something -- which is certainly not always easy to remember!)

  51. I understand your idea of capping. Sometimes I just can't visit everyone.
