December Personal Photo Challenge - Christmas Scenes

The photo challenge this month hosted by Donna at Cottage Days and Journeys is on Christmas scenes, the perfect subject for December.
Christmas dinner for the birds. My first photo is a few years old but a favourite of a bird feeder attached to the deck railing. It was snowing and the flash was used so I darkened the contrast a bit and and added fake snow from PicMonkey.  Taken with a point and shoot camera.
A display of Father Christmas in various styles along with fresh fruit and candlelight taken at Mrs. Mitchell's restaurant  in Violet Hill one year.   Auto, ISO 400
The Victorian parlour at Dundurn Castle. This is a table top tree surrounded by children's toys. My camera was turned sideways so as not to miss the fabulous chandelier just beyond the tree.
Taken on auto with an ISO of 800.
If you'd like to join the photo challenge, the link that will be live December 12 can be found here. Thank you Donna for hosting.

  6. Wonderful Christmas photos! Oddly enough I was hoping to visit Dundurn Castle during the holidays with my family to see their Christmas decorations. It's such a beautiful home, and I love your photo of the parlour. My mother's family were involved in the construction of Dundurn. They supplied the sewer tiles! A bit of useless information for you ;) Wendy x

  7. Lovely scenes Judith and I used a bit of effects from Picmonkey for mine too...I'll join in on Sunday.

Loved all the images and that Victorian parlor is stunning...I do love Victorian homes especially at Christmas.

  8. Love your images of Christmas, Judith! My favorite is of that darling little Christmasy birdfeeder! Hope your holiday decorating, baking, and gifting is going well. I made peanut brittle and toffee yesterday for Ron to take to work. After today, he has only 9 working days left (he is taking PTO the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, then goes back for one day on Jan. 2nd.) We are hosting friends tonight -first to an Italian restaurant for dinner, then our home for dessert and conversation. I'm making the Chocolate Cream pie on page 159 of Beth Howard's cookbook - I've made it several times before and it is fantastic!
    Hugs, Beth

  9. Great pics - those Victorians always went overboard at Christmas and, along with their already opulent velvet drapes and heavy carved furniture, it made for a luxurious holiday in the more elaborate homes.

    Happy Christmas dear.

  21. Beautiful images, Judith!

I wish I had more time to blog, it seems I can do every single thing but that, which is the one thing I wish to do MOST. Ugh.

Anyway, I love the Christmas Images theme link, and so glad you shared these lovely ones.

    Hugs.

  22. What a grand Christmas tree in your last photo. Miss S was a little disappointed that when we finally put up our tree we didn't put it in the middle of the room. When we live in a place like Dundurn we'll give it a try.
