A Blue and White Tea and Surprise in the Mail

When the Royal Doulton store had their Christmas open house and sale I picked up this pretty blue and white Devon Cottage teacup by Johnson Brothers.
A couple of ornately decorated sugar cookies from another open house to have with my three o'clock afternoon tea.
Set out on the dining room table with a tall and happy snowman for company. A Christmas Blend from Timothy's is brewing in the kitchen.
On the kitchen wall hangs the prettiest blue and white heart with Queen Anne's Lace, an early Christmas gift from a special friend.
A surprise package came in the mail this week from a sweet blogging sister who also makes her own cards. Included was a Harney & Sons Holiday tea bag and the miniature tea set that matches my book 'A Cup of Christmas Tea'. Totally unexpected and appreciated in knowing my fondness for tea.
I am grateful for the women I have met through blogging who enrich my life with their friendship. To them, and newcomers to my blog, thank you for visiting and leaving kind comments.

  1. I love blue and white china, and your tea cup & saucer are so pretty! The ceramic heart is cute ... love Queen Anne's lace as a motif. I even have some fabric with it printed on in my stash. You received some beautiful gifts Judith! Now you have to tell me where is this Royal Doulton store! We used to have a Rob MacIntosh china shop in town, but they moved and I'm left with nothing. 18. Hi Judith, Lovely post! Your tablecloth is so pretty. Your cookies are really beautiful. I made some cut out sugar cookies today, but the appearance of yours puts mine to shame! I simply shook colored sugar onto them before baking. I like your mini tea set - what a treasure! And of course your little heart. :)
Have a wonderful Christmas, Judith. Be blessed. I treasure your friendship. :)

  19. Love the miniature tea set! Isn't it wonderful how the internet brings together people with mutual interests? You find the loveliest items at the Royal Doulton store. It's just as well that the closest Royal Doulton outlet store is nearly an hour away from me so that I'm not shopping there all the time. Merry Christmas!

  26. Your new blue teacup is beautiful! That's a pattern I've not seen before. And looks like you have already received some lovely gifts from tea friends. I have that miniature tea set as well, and it seems that the "Cup of Christmas Tea" wares are becoming more and more collectible, so you're lucky to have it!

  30. What pretty cookies! Love the blue and white teacup! I am really becoming fond of blue and white too. I started collecting the red because it was different from everyone else's but after having blue in my home my whole married life, I needed a change. However the blue is becoming a real favourite these days. Even blue home decor is catching my eye again. The wee tea set is adorable and so perfect for this time of year. The heart with the QAL in it is really lovely and a beautiful gift. Thank you for joining me for tea during this very busy season and I wish you and your loved ones a Very Happy Christmas!

    Christmas blessings,
    Sandi

  34. Blessings, Judith! A lovely blue and white theme from Johnson Bros. and those cookies look to much like little works of art. How could you eat them! Sweet gift with A Cup of Christmas Tea - I picked that book up last year thrifting, myself. So nice to visit--been frying my brain of late with a lot of new techy things to do with the book coming out and my new publishing website. How I miss weekly teatimes. Hope to post more often in the new year and looking forward to your spring gardens! Enjoy your Christmas and all God's richest blessings!
    Joy!
