Sweets for Tea

Today I went to our local farmers market and purchased one of these cute cookies from Holly's Sweets & Eats to have with my afternoon tea.  Mmm, it had cardamon in it and was delicious.
I pulled out my poppy teacup with the handle that is one of the most comfortable for holding a cuppa.
Just behind the teacup is a pretty stained glass piece I picked up on the weekend.
We've been buying local honey for a number of years from Dickey Bee and this year they're selling their own maple syrup.  I'm glad I was at the market to buy a bottle from them as I do like to support the local businesses and we were running low on it.
As usual, a bit of honey in my tea and the anticipation of trying the maple syrup on something - frozen yogurt perhaps?
Dickey Bee also sells bee pollen as one their other products. A discussion started between the vendor, another lady and myself on the benefits of eating it. Anyone taking it who can offer their two cents worth?

  1. Oh the Farmer's Markets must be opening soon if not already...love them, too, and especially the ones that sell baked goods. Your tea cup's handle is an interesting style...have you analyzed why it is the most comfortable for you? Bee pollen? Does it have more benefits than the honey itself? All I know is that when allergies start kicking up, I'm in the honey jar. Will have to return and see what others say.

  13. Judith that cookie sounds yummy. I eat organic raw honey which they say is the healthiest for you especially if you can get it local as it helps with allergies as well as acid reflux and a host of health benefits.

  14. We finally got a local farmers market here. I have been going to the one in the city, but this is nice as it is small and very local. That cookie looks amazing. Love your poppy cup! I buy honey local and use it as it is supposed to help with allergies. Mine are so bad, so even if it helps a little, I will try. Your desk sounds like it was fun! Thanks for sharing! Winnie
