January Personal Photo Challenge - Shadow Play

Double Play!  Our daughter's dog standing outside her kitchen patio doors resulted in a double shadow.  I darkened the contrast for more definition of the shadow on the floor.
From a narrow window in the basement the shadow of a spirea from the front garden is captured on the wall.  Isn't it nice that we can enjoy the same plants outdoors as well as in?
I'm linking with Donna at Cottage Days and Journeys for our monthly Personal Photo Challenge.

  1. Hahaha, I love the double play photo! Great timing and idea. You were on your toes to capture that one. And your second photo demonstrates that we can enjoy a textural pattern from nature on our walls, giving extra enjoyment from our garden plants!

  3. Double play is so cool! And I do think shadows of the plants and trees and shrubs look very interesting in winter.

  4. A fun response to the photo challenge. That's like a regular movie playing on your wall --- and a piece of art too! Good choice. Have a nice weekend!

  5. Timing was perfect in that first shot Judith - really neat! Taking advantage of any shots of plant life is hard at this time of year - your Spirea seems to have come to life in that shadow shot, really lovely.

Stay warm - enjoy the day - pouring rain here so not a shadow visible anywhere!

    Hugs - Mary

  27. What a fun idea for a photo challenge! I'm about to read a book on food photography and am hoping to really up my game in the coming year -- I hope to train my eye to be as "thoughtful" about photos as you always seem to be!
