What do you think?

The oldest grandson has taken up hunting, a sport in northern Ontario that puts food on the table.  He and his buddies have a trail cam set up to determine where the deer will be and recently they captured this inquisitive one looking into the camera.  Showing me the trail cam photos when we were recently visiting up north, this one caught my eye.
The question is, what do you think that is off to the right?  Looks like a spirit to me, creepy, isn't it?

  2. My eye was immediately drawn to that image on the right before you even mentioned it! It looks like a spirit/ghost with its mouth open. That is just rather spooky!

  3. Well it looks exactly like a ghost. How interesting and how utterly cool that the shot was caught at all.

  4. Weird , one never knows ! Great photo . Deer hunting is popular down here to in the south western part of Ontario ! I used to hunt with my dad when I was younger on the farm. It is mild with rain snow mix and foggy here today ! Thanks for sharing ! Have a good day !

  5. This photo is freaky. We have seen a lot of game cam wildlife, but nothing like this one! My husband hunts with a bow. He hunted in British Columbia for caribou, but missed. Says he needs to go back. Hope you get to enjoy the venison.

  8. Wow, that is VERY strange. I don't know what to think, Judith. It looks like a ghost or perhaps an alien (well, what aliens look like in movies, anyhow).
    Nice buck.

  9. Definitely looks like a spirit! My husband thinks he's laughing at the deer, but I think he's wailing, or maybe trying to scare the deer off! Very interesting.

  15. I have one of these cameras in my yard here in the Ocala National Forest (Florida). We get lots of interesting pictures of bears, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, deer, and even the neighborhood cat and squirrel. The only "spirits" I've seen are funny looking pictures of me coming to check the camera or walking past it. That picture is very strange indeed. I'm sure there is a logical explanation...but I don't know what it is! Thanks for sharing. Made us all pause and think about that one!

  16. "If you go out in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise!!" This is creeping me out ... I think it looks like a howling spirit too. But why is he howling? I wouldn't want to be hunting in those woods :O Let us know what happens with the hunters ... maybe they should take some garlic necklaces and silver bullets?!
