Cozy, Rainy Day Tea

Welcome friends for tea. Today it is drizzling outside, but I'm cozy in my office with a warm sweater on and an autumn scented candle from Pier 1 burning.
My afternoon tea is chocolate orange puerh which is as good as it sounds. I'm having it in a Butterfly Meadow mug today.
I baked oatmeal scones that are tasty with some lemon curd slathered on.
A small ceramic basket I made years ago is piled with tiny pumpkins.
An informal, but cozy tea for a wet and dreary day. However, I do have something to brighten things up.  A couple of weeks ago, I won a draw at a local business to have a photograph put on canvas.
After much deliberation, I decided to have this shot of sunflowers taken at a local farm blown up.
The canvas was hung over the love seat in the living room to see how it looked, but it was too small and so I put the print back that was there.  On the rail above is my collection of Lena Liu butterfly plates.  The sunflowers will probably end up on the wall in the front entrance which can be a little dark at times but all those happy flower faces will create a warm welcome to visitors.

I hope you'll visit my tea time hosts and their guests.

  7. Oh, Judith, how cozy and warm and peaceful your teatime is today. I don't know if it's my Canadian upbringing, but I SO miss those little raindrops, dancing ever so lightly against the window pane or on top of the roof! And scones...heavenly!

Your sunflowers smile brightly up at those dainty butterflies!:-D

  8. Your Sunflower photo made a beautiful canvas! I've sold several of my photos that I had put on canvas. My nephew's wife opened a home decor store and asked for some of my photos on canvas.

  12. What a lovely cozy warm home Judith.... (I'll take the sunflowers if you can't find a good place for it...I live in a very small space ;>))) (LOL)) ...Seriously, your photo really made a beautiful print. I would like to do the same thing with some of my favorite flower pictures, when we get back to our Florida home (it's a little bit bigger).

  26. You've got the right idea Judith. I've been hiding away form the rain here too. What a wonderful surprise to win something as lovely and tangible as a personal photo on canvas. It does look very lovely. Hope you stay dry and warm. :) Hugs.
