Where Bloggers Create 2013

Karen Valentine is a talented lady and the one who designed my blog.  For a few years now, right about this time, Karen hosts a meme called "Where Bloggers Create" which I participated in a couple of years ago.  For that link I showed the place in the basement where I make cards as I attend a Stampin' Up workshop every month and craft them at home as well.  My space is in an unfinished part of the basement which works for me but when you see where some people craft during this party, I don't need to show it again.
My office is where most of my creating takes place anyway.  I'm a freelance garden writer/photographer so spend a lot of time at my laptop and going through resource books for articles I'm writing.  Sometimes I just write for this blog, and as we all know, you meet the nicest people in blogland.
This is where I write with a cork board close by that holds a metric conversion chart and specific plant data referred to often.
I'm also a tea blogger.  A group of mostly tea grannies gather weekly to show off new teacups or other tea wares, recipes and chat about things dear to our hearts over tea.  I have afternoon tea every day around 3-3:30 pm and one of those huge teacups that holds as much as a mug and a few cookies are beside me as I compose this post.
My much used books at hand.
The top of the desk bookcase holds a few of my ceramic creations and a favourite photo of our two daughters and I taken in the mid 70's when they were young.
The raccoon family is one piece I made that I still like very much.
A few old books spray painted in gold, tied with a ribbon and topped with berries and a bird was a gift from a fellow crafter.
While I work, Topaz likes to chew a rawhide strip in front of a bookcase of gardening books.  It was jammed full until I went through and pulled out a bunch to donate to my garden club.
Another bookcase holds my Tea Time and Victoria magazines filed by season.  The filing cabinet has folders with handouts I use for speaking engagements and some craft files.
The reflection from the closet doors shows my framed certificates and wolf border put on when we bought the house.  My office was originally daughter #2's bedroom and she loves wildlife too.
A swag of dried garden flowers I made at a craft workshop and my bird ID chart from when I participated in the feeder bird counts.
I collect fairies and what would my creative space be without a garden fairy!
Please join Karen and her guests at My Dessert Cottage for "Where Bloggers Create 2013" ; I promise you will be inspired.

  3. So that's your portal! Very pleasant and I especially like to see that tea cup filled and at the ready. I feel as if I write in a dungeon with the curtains drawn and the room dark and only the glow of the monitor to cheer me with all the Blogdom has to offer.

It has been incredibly hot and humid here in Japan. The news warns of heatstroke these days.
