Anniversary Tea in the Garden

Welcome friends for tea this week.  July 1 is Canada Day for Canadians to celebrate, but also our wedding anniversary.  Hubby and I have been married 41 years, hard to believe how time flies.
The carpet roses are starting to bloom like crazy along the front walkway and the butterfly garden on the right will be filled with flowers later this month.
A new geranium I bought this year called 'Vancouver' sits by the front door.
It has spectacular leaves and is an opportunity for a shout out to the Canadian bloggers in Vancouver for Canada Day.
To celebrate our anniversary, I've put some tea things on a silver tray to carry out to the tea house.
The Royal Albert teapot in Lavender Rose pattern is my favourite to use for special occasions.
Fresh blueberry scones with marmalade and whipped cream to have with delicious Earl Grey tea.
I didn't dress up like this for our anniversary but was recently in need of a photo of me in the tea house for a magazine article and hubby obligingly snapped a few shots.
Wouldn't it be nice to put on a pretty dress (the one I'm wearing is a Laura Ashley) and a fancy hat for afternoon tea every day?  Care to join me?

Thank you to my hosts and I hope you'll make yourself a cup of tea while visiting them and their guests.

How nice to have a tea house in your yard to take afternoon tea in! You look lovely in your long dress and hat, and your scones look delicious. I can almost taste them along with your Earl Grey tea!

  16. Happy Anniversary, my friend! What a splendid day to celebrate! And Lavender Rose is the perfect teapot to use for special occasions. I have two; my Lavender Rose which came from my mother and the Old County Roses which my guys gifted me with for my birthday.
You look so lovely sipping tea in your tea house! I would love to dress up every day for tea; dress, hat, gloves, the works. Sometimes, I think I was born in the wrong century. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea and Happy Canada Day as well!

    Blessings & hugs,
