The Art of Tea

Welcome friends for tea this week.  I recently attended dressy affair fundraising tea tasting called The Art of Tea with a couple of friends.  Valerie's blog is 'Sandbox Perspectives' and Jennifer's 'A Garden of Threads'.
We've known each other for a long time from when we met at our Master Gardener group and go out for lunch or tea occasionally.
The tables were set with teacups on loan from several members of the Cultural Centre hosting the tea.
Each place setting had a hand crafted pottery plate to eat from and then take home, and a scroll with the menu tied with a pink ribbon.
Here I am with my gloves on displaying the open scroll as Jen photographs it for me.
The sweet table; platters were distributed to each table of women.
The teas we sampled were:  Bai Mu Dan white, Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose green, Coconut Oolong, Buckingham Palace Garden Party black, Golden Assam black, and Provence rooibos.
 The plate I brought home.
Val and I.  We asked someone to take a photo of the 3 of us but unfortunately it didn't turn out.
I baked some chocolate cupcakes and one fits nicely in the corner of my new plate.
I'm linking with:
Please join my hosts and their guests while you sip a cup of tea yourself.

  27. What elegant ladies you are with your beautiful outfits and stunning hats. I have to say my favorite shot has to be you in your gloves holding the scroll. That is so magazine worthy. We used to always wear gloves and hats at Easter and I miss them!

So glad you took us along for this wonderful event.
