In Praise of Tulips

The tulips are blooming in the garden and the Tulip Festival is on in Ottawa.  It wouldn't be spring without these pretty bulbs giving us our first splash of colour.
Granddaughter Emma at a dance competition in Ottawa this weekend had her mom send me her photo in front of the tulips.
I'm linking with Little Red House for Mosaic Monday and Lisas Chaos for Macro Monday.

  1. What a cute shot of your granddaughter Emma and the tulips! I love tulips, I just wish the critters would not run off with the bulbs. Lovely photos, have a happy week!

  2. Absolutely beautiful- wish tulip season lasted longer - ours only stayed a few days.

I bet that festival is really something to see, Judith- especially for a gardener such as yourself!

  9. Judith what a fabulous time to be in Ottawa with all tulips. Your grand daughter looks adorable ... sounds like she appreciates flowers like her grandmother.

The tulips at our city home were starting to bloom while I was there last week... and to my delight and surprise the tulips at our home in country greeted me with smiling blooms when I returned this week-end - can't wait to get in the gardens here.

    happy week-end..xo C. (HHL)

  15. They are beautiful flowers, they grow them in Canberra but don't do well here, maybe too humid.
