Pretty in Pink Bouquet

My daughter gifted me with this beautiful bouquet of pink gerberas and tulips last weekend when she and a couple of the granddaughters stayed with us.
I would just like to mention how important it is to watermark your photos.  Recently myself, and a few other women were victims of a blog scraper that pirated our posts for their blog.  With so many people pinning your photos as well, having your watermark will at least identify the photo as yours many pins later.  I haven't always followed through doing this myself but am trying to be more diligent since this pirating episode.  (and this was only one blog we know about that a fellow victim discovered by accident)
Last week a number of bloggers asked what program I use for my mosaics and I have to say piZap is my all time favourite free editing and collage making program and it's Mac friendly.
I'm linking with Little Red House for Mosaic Monday and Lisa's Chaos for Macro Monday.

  1. Lovely bouquet and your collage is really lovely. There are always thieves on the web. Just had my only photo on my website stolen not identified. Had to refer them to the webhost service to take it down. I had not redone that one since it's animated and was waiting for one redo on new dogs.

  2. Hi Judith: With all our crazy weather it is just perfect to take photos of those lovely cut flowers. I am sorry that people have been stealing your posts but I have heard and read that unless you are willing to copyright your photos with the copyright office your photos can have your logo easily photoshoped off. 5. I'm so sorry that someone has stolen from your blog. I've heard of it happening and have wondered how to find out if this happened to me.
On another note - what a sweet thing for your daughter to do. The flowers must bring a welcome touch of spring to your house.

  6. Beautiful spring blossoms! How do you watermark a photo?

  7. Lovely flowers. Good advice on adding the watermark. I might also add that it should be towards the center of the image and not on the edge ... as it can easily be cropped off on the edges (have had that happen to me) I'm not a Pinterest fan ... not because I don't want my ideas shared, but because others just save them to their computers and then post them as "Pinterest faves" or similar but give no credit to the original site.

  9. Very pretty posies. Your daughter is a peach! Well now, a mutual friend was telling me about this happening to you. I am always sorry to hear of such things and I certainly hope that the blogger was reported. I don't usually worry about marking my photos because they're nothing great and I know that anyone can very easily remove them. Sigh. Why can't everything be peace and light in Blogdom? Thank you for saying something about it.

  10. I love the gerbera daisies, lovely bouquet. Sorry, about your blog photos being stolen. I have been not been watermarking my images. I think people have a lot of nerve putting your photos on their blogs. I would happily give permission if asked. Hope you have a happy week ahead!

  12. I am sorry to hear about your stolen photos, having had some taken I know how you feel. I tried to tell myself it was a compliment, they must have liked them very much to steal them. I have been resizing them small so the resolution would be awful if someone tried to print them and also added my watermark.

The bouquet your daughter gave you is lovely and pink is such a happy colour. hugs, Jen

  16. Pink gerberas are so pretty in a bouquet. Thank for the warning to watermark photos. I never do it, but I do resize my photos that I post to a small resolution. However did you discover that your photos had been stolen? I've often wondered how it's discovered.

    Have a good week.

  23. Pretty in pink! And your mosaic is so creative--I'm at the bottom of the learning curve here. So far I've had good experiences with people wanting to use my photos, but am a beginner with photography as well. Always looking for an inobtrusive way of "signing" my work.

  24. A beautiful bouquet!
    Lovely macros!
I started watermarking mine but I'm not sure it will help. As mentioned it is easy to photoshop it out. The internet is so vast that tracking every photo down would be time consuming. So sad people have to steal because that is what it is. Google puts a very small notice in the corner that says photos 'may be subject to copyright' when in truth they all are subject.

  30. Judith, I heard that you were one of the blogs that I follow that got caught in this scam. I'm so sorry and hope it doesn't happen again to you or anyone else, including me! What a beautiful bouquet of pinks. They make a gorgeous collage. I've never heard of piZap so will have a look at it. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Pamela
