December Note Card Party

We had an ample snowfall last month that put us in the mood for Christmas but as the unpredictable weather of this year continued, the temperature warmed and all the snow melted.  It looks like this year will be another green grass Christmas.
Not to worry, I dug out some old photos for Vee's Note Card Party that will help keep us in the spirit of a wintry holiday.
The bridge over the creek that runs into the lake near us.
This was my favourite platform bird feeder until the squirrels chewed it.
Hoar frost is so fascinating and I love the little spiky fingers it creates.
This clump of grass is a perfect punctuation mark in the landscape and I've used it in a magazine article as well as my gardening column in the past.
If you have post card worthy photos, why not join Vee's party?  The link can be found here.

Beautiful photos Judith. I love the first and third ones. The snow has just started here and it's windy. Going to be a nasty storm I think.

Great notecard pics, Judith! I love the bridge photo, the hoarfrost on the berry tree, and the cute little birdfeeder. Too bad the squirrels chewed on it. I really enjoyed seeing your photos, including the pretty borders you put around them.

Very nice photos. Here in GA we rarely see snow for Christmas. Visiting from Vee's; wishing you a Merry Christmas.

You've captured so many beautiful textures in your photographs. I really like the hoarfrost one on the cherries? They look as if they might be cherries, but I'm having trouble imagining them not being harvested. Lovely scene by the lake as well...

Your photo of the hoar frost is so beautiful.

Snow looks so pretty. I don't like the cold so much but if I'm inside by the warm fire with a cup of hot coffee in my hands, I like to look out at it.

Judith, I love that first picture of the footbridge - just lovely! We'll be having green grass, too, I imagine. I did snow pictures from a couple of years ago, and certainly not at Christmastime! Great Pics!

Oh Judith - those pics are just exactly what we need!

It's gotten chillier - been in the upper 50s here all week- but not enough to have a White Christmas, I'm afraid. : - (

I think that berry and hoar frost pic is amazing.....and hoar frost is a term I have never heard of before reading this post of yours!

Neat neat neat photo!

The pictures are glorious. The first one is so beautifully romantic, and the hoarfrost is amazing. I've heard the word hoarfrost many a time, but never seen what it looks like. Thanks!

Lovely cards. The berries reminds me of the one I just got of my Crabapple waiting for the birds to eat this Winter.

They're all beautiful and make me feel so wintery. My very favorite is the first one. In my mind's eye, that looks like a spot near my grandmother's house when I was growing up.

Your photos are beautiful! I want to walk over that bridge...and just stare at the berries (?) graced with hoar frost. Gorgeous!

Judith, how I LOVE your snowy Christmas note cards! Living in the southeastern United States, we only have a white Christmas about once every ten years. We had one two Christmases ago, and it was just beautiful.

I enjoyed seeing your picture with the hoar frost; I don't know that I've ever seen frost like that here. It's so picturesque!

Thank you for sharing and have a Joyous Christmas and a Blessed New Year.

Capturing hoarfrost is so much fun. You did well. I've gotten it a few times and always love the details.

Oh Judith I love all your note card images - The hoar frost on those sweet little bunches of cherries is my favourite too!
How frustrating it must have been to lose those cherries.

I can see why you make your own cards - these are so beautiful.

I was thinking this morning how much the weather has changed in the past 10 years. Winters are so mild now, and we hardly had any wildflower last year.

I love your photographs, Judith. Especially the one with the hoar frost.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas!!!
Hugs,
Zuzu
