After the Storm

We certainly got lots of snow overnight and it has been snowing all day.  It's pretty from the inside but I had some shovelling to do and took my camera with me.
Topaz and Henry had fun running around and playing.
The front door as I came around to clear it out.
Those two snow covered lumps are my penguins that welcome people to the house.  Hmm, there's me caught in the reflection on the door.
I thought the bench looked pretty neat with the snow piled on the slats.
And look at this, a rosebud on one of the pavement rose bushes.
Christmas was quiet, our SIL and two grands not well with flu and colds but they mustered enough strength to open their gifts.  Our SIL spent 4 hours constructing this toy that I found interesting and loved watching in action.
Marbles are taken to the top by buckets attached to a pulley and begin their way back down.  Diverters send marbles on two different tracks, a cart fills with 2 or 3 of them and spills them over and it all begins again.
I hope your Christmas was filled with the warmth of family and friends.  Now we have a couple of days of downtime to sit and read new books by the fire and sip tea and hot chocolate.

Your bench looks very similar to mine Judith. The snow is cleared away now, time to enjoy the birds for dinner fee4ding time. Our grandson has a simple version of the maze you are showing. He loves it and will create all different ones. Hope your SIL and grandsons are feeling better. There has been so much flu around. Our family had it the week before Christmas

We got hit with the same storm you did but it started Tuesday night and finally ended yesterday. I think we got around 8 inches. It was heavy and wet which made things treacherous out there. Glad I didn't have to go anywhere. Hope your New Year is wonderful.

Very pretty snow pictures, good that I live in the south. It's good to have a little but it sure is messy to get around in. Take care and have a very blessed New Year!

Yes, you did get a lot of snow Judith! We are getting that storm here now and it's really bad. I don't like it when it's dark as I can't see how bad it is. lol That game looks like a lot of fun. Do you remember the old game called Mouse Trap? Our kids loved it! Stay cozy and drink tea. Blessings, Pamela

I heard from my son that there was quite a lot of snow this morning. I'm sending you an email - to make you laugh!

We're in a similar weather pattern. It's been snowing all day after snowing much of the night and it's supposed to snow until tomorrow. Fortunately, I have no snow to shovel as John does what little we have to do and plows the rest. Your little penguins look perfectly at home...you look a bit like a penguin yourself all dressed for cold weather. Sorry that there was illness in the family. Never any fun and especially no fun over Christmas. That toy looks amazing!

Wow that's a lot of snow. You get your exercise shoveling that kind of snow. I hope you stay well from whatever is going around. Have a great weekend!

We got about six inches of snow in Michigan yesterday and more is coming tomorrow. I don't mind it if I can stay in where it's warm and comfy.
Happy New Year to you and yours!

Very pretty snow photos! I especially liked seeing Henry and Topaz playing in the snow. Your penguins are adorable, Judith! Good to be inside where it's warm, looking out at the snow as it feels cozy then. The toy reminds me of the Mousetrap game that we had as children. Hope 2013 brings you love, peace, joy, hope, prosperity, and good health!
Hugs, Beth

what beautiful snowfall pics, Judith!

I especially loveyou captured a rose bud with a snowy background, that always - to me- as though Time Stood Still, if that makes any lick of sense.

That huge marble toy - haha- what FUN!! Did you drop a marble down the chute too? I hope so! Looks like an amazing thing to me.

Have a blessed day.

Hugs.
