2012, A Year in Review

2012 was a year of cakes and birthdays as both hubby and I turned 60 and had a milestone anniversary of 40 years.  I took a couple of cupcake decorating courses and learned to create some beautiful sweets.  My friend Ruth turned 93 and she and I went to a high tea for Mother's Day where of course we had cake.  (Unfortunately you have to click on each mosaic to view it fully, something to work out with my blog designer in 2013.)
It was also a year for people and places.  Our grandson graduated high school and turned 18 in December.  We rented a condo in Florida for the month of February and watched dolphins from the balcony swim by daily.
A review of the year wouldn't be complete without sharing about my two passions of gardening and tea.  A friend who is a photographer took the black and white of me at a Victorian Tea where I was pleased to win a prize for my costume.  Tea in the garden is an experience of fragrance and bird song.
I share tea with friends each week on my blog, gathering with a most amazing group of women whom I am fortunate to be acquainted with.
Both of my Itoh peonies bloomed this year for the first time and the macro photo is of 'Bartzella'.
While in Florida, hubby gifted me with 3 antique blue Ball canning jars for Valentine's Day which I used to create a vignette for a magazine article I wrote.  The blue jar grouping was inspired by the very talented photographer Georgianna Lane and appeared in Footprints magazine which sadly will not be published after 2012 due to cost streamlining.

I am thankful for the many blessings in my life and I'm grateful to the people who choose to follow my blog.
2013 will bring challenges I'm sure but beautiful moments to savour as well.  I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.

That was a lovely look back, Judith. You and I share a birth year, but we won't celebrate our 40th until the new year. I love the black and white photo of you - it just says 'tea with the ladies' - and there's nothing nicer!
