At Home with the Birds

I've loved watching backyard birds for as long as I can remember.  Growing up, the chickadees used to sit on the closeline by the back door and sparrows darted in and out of the large blue spruce on the front lawn.
Since I acquired a DSLR camera, I've taken so many photos of birds and each time I think to myself, how many pictures do you need of each kind of bird?  Well, you can never have too many poses, and this is a favourite of a bluejay taken in winter.
My love for our feathered friends can be seen in the decor of our home too.
Thank you Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for hosting Home, her new party each week and thanks for all the kind comments and suggestions for my first attempt at making macarons as seen here.

  1. I was just sorting through all my photos for the past month or so and was wondering the same thing ... why so many photos of each bird. But I keep taking them. Now if I had to pay to have them developed and printed it might be a different story.
Lovely collection of bird items throughout your home.

  2. Hi Judith,
What a great shot of the Blue Jay! We are breakfast time bird watchers, it's a quiet way to wake up. Beautiful birdie decor too, my favorite is the nest with the clutch of blue eggs...

  3. My hubby and I love watching the birds and we could become avid bird watchers if he was retired! My son is studying all about our little feathered friends in Wildlife Conservation Tech. and he can share a wealth of information about them. We are having wonderful conservations about these little wonders. Yours are all so cute. I have many birdies in my home too. Thank you for sharing at my HOME and have a lovely rest of your week.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  7. Your pictures and home decor of birds are very beautiful. We often see bluejays and cardinals in our yard. In the summer we see alot of yellow finches. And there are always the robins and sparrows. Thank you so much for sharing. I really enjoyed it.

    Hugs,
