High Tea for Mother's Day

Welcome for tea this week my friends.  Last week my friend Ruth (who will be 92 on July 2) and I went out for high tea.  A little bistro in a town north of us hosts this event every day for the whole week before Mother's Day and again for a week the first part of December.  The sittings are at 1 and 3 pm.  Ruth and I went for 1 pm and were both ready for lunch.
Each woman had a rose in a small vase at her place setting to take home, this is mine.
I didn't take photos of everything; to start we each received a cup with spears of raw vegetables, asparagus, red pepper, broccoli, cauliflower and a cherry tomato on a pick.  A dip was in the bottom of the cup.
Next a 3 tier curate had delectable finger sandwiches, scones and many sweets.  :-)
Lemon tarts and mini creme brûlée with sugared scones in the background.
Petit fours, chocolate cheesecake pops, shortbread.
The last thing they brought out was this colourful mousse with real flakes of gold.
And here we are.  Both Ruth and I had the bistro's own blend of Ceylon tea, our teacups constantly kept filled by the wonderful staff on hand.
