A New Chapter

Welcome friends for tea this week.  I missed the gathering last week as we were driving to Florida to spend the month of February in a condo on the gulf side.  My  last post gave one reason why we're here, in July we celebrate 40 years of marriage.
The other reason is that I'm turning the page of a new chapter in my life later this month.  Before we left, the gals from my garden club took me out to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner and there were 14 noisy women all gabbing at once.
I highly recommend Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah that I received as a gift and read on the way down.

In preparation of a special Valentine's Tea hosted by Rose Chintz Cottage on the 14th, I purchased a yummy looking shortbread heart with pink icing to nibble on with my blueberry green tea.
Sadly there is no fine china cups and saucers at the condo but at least I brought my own teapot and bought a mug to go with it from Dollar Tree.
I've set up on the little table on the balcony overlooking the beach and pool.
The weather has been toasty warm and in 2 weeks family will arrive for a visit.
I'm linking with Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage, Trisha at Sweetology and Bernideen (if we can find her under all the snow) at her Tea Time Blog.   Please join my hosts and their guests for tea.
And, don't forget Sandi's Valentine Tea, details are on her blog.

  9. Oh what a divine way to enjoy your pretty tart and a pot of tea....overlooking that wonderful body of water in the warmth of Florida.

My folks had a house in Englewood on the Gulf side for most of my life - I love that side of the Sunshine State!

Enjoy your time there, and your family.

  20. This has stirred up some old memories for me. When I was about 10 my grandmother took me and my brother on the greyhound bus to the Gulf. We slept on the sleeping porch of an old ancient Colonial mansion. I was confused and thought my great aunt owned the entire house - she only rented a room on the back. Your post is a delight! I love that tea for one there!
