Vintage Tea Dining

Welcome friends for tea this week.  I'm sitting on the sofa perusing the new tea book I purchased and received in the mail.  A couple of Magic Cookie Bars made with Eagle brand milk and lots of chocolate to nibble on with  our tea.
It's on the side table with an angel and few birds that stay around for the winter.
The book was written by fellow blogger and journalist Angela McRae.  Her blog Tea With Friends is a wealth of information on recipes, traditions and anything tea!
'Dainty Dining' is filled with vintage recipes, memories and memorabilia from America's department store tea rooms.  Although I didn't recognize most of the departments stores, celebrity names I did know.  Who would have guessed that the big, strapping 'Duke' John Wayne would have visited a tea room?

From a Snow Princess to Mr. Bingles, many famous recipes are included and all kinds of tea trivia to thoroughly enjoy.
Congratulations Angela, your book is a real delight to read.
I'm joining Rose Chintz Cottage, Sweetology and A Delightsome Life and their guests.

  2. What a wonderful tea for friends. Love the angel. I need to send for the book! Been promising to...I love the magic cookie bars. I only make them when the kids come...otherwise the 2 of us will eat a whole pan in a few days! Not so good for us. LOL!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Hello my friend,
I always enjoy seeing the Rose Bud teacup. As you know, I have one too. Your cookie bars look good. I haven't made those in ages. That looks like a very nice book. Like Val above said, I expect we'll be seeing some new recipes coming forth from your kitchen in the near future. Have a lovely week, Judith, and thank you for sharing with us today.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
