King's Wharf

I'm linking this post with Beth's  first time for her new blog party 'Travels Near and Far' held on the 15th of each month.
Every summer for about six years now my husband and I have enjoyed plays and musicals at the Drayton theatre in Penetanguishene called King's Wharf.  We see four shows starting in June and ending in August.  Actors and actresses have been on stage at Stratford and many on television as well.
The drive is just over an hour for the 2 pm show and its through some pretty countryside.
As you walk up to the theatre, this old anchor is propped up on the grass.
Rum barrels line the upper walkway.
The lake beside the theatre, and docked is...
this ship that always reminds me of the Black Pearl.  Do you think Jack Sparrow could be lurking about?  I must confess that I like Johnny Depp and have seen all of the Pirates of the Caribbean series with our grandson.
Last week at King's Wharf we saw a musical called 'Blood Brothers' and at the end, many tissues were dabbing teary eyes, yours truly included.
Please visit Beth at Beyond the Garden Gate and join in the fun yourself!

  2. Just what we love...a day out & live theater. Looks like a perfect place. We used to live in Ashland, Oregon home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival which had 3 theaters showing plays (not all Shakespeare) from Feb-Oct, one of them the oldeest Globe outdoor replica in the USA. I have missed that!

  5. Love live theatre. I'll have to check this out, it's not too far from where we live - we're in Ontario as well.

That is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the show! The small red house in the country side is very lovely. I like it very much. The photo of rum barrels lining on the walkway is interesting too!
