Flying Flowers

A trio of pretty butterflies I captured in a sanctuary this weekend.  Butterflies have been referred to as flying flowers by some gardeners, a description that I think is very fitting.
I'm linking with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.

  1. I've never heard that, but I love it!
We haven't seen too many butterflies here yet, due to the rain and cold. Most years we see loads.

  2. Judith, "flying flowers" is a new term to me, but it certainly is appropriate. There is a subtle elegance to your butterfly collage. (A bit of ribbon at the top and you'd have a striking bookmark!)

  3. What interesting butterflies! The second looks as if she's dressed for the ball; the first as if she's wearing a red cape; the third as if she's got a bee tattoo on her back.

  5. Beautiful. I saw my first butterfly this morning, but need to look it up. It was one I've never seen here before. It looked like some sort of black swallowtail. Thanks for sharing. ♥♫
