Tea in the Garden on Saturday #2

Welcome friends to Tea in the Garden on Saturday hosted by Bernideen at her Tea Time Blog.
I had big plans to set up a lovely tea outside for today but we are getting much needed rain for our gardens so I decided to show a couple of photos from last year at one of my favourite spots where I like to have tea.
This bench backs on to the garden shed and faces the pond.  It is a quiet corner and shady until late afternoon, the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea, scone and magazine.
We are fortunate to have a farm not far from us with a huge blueberry patch and I pick enough each fall to last us through the winter.  The berries are so sweet that many don't make it to the pail and every customer has their fill while picking.
That's a nigella flower on my teacup, a sweet plant to have in a cottage garden and this variety is 'Gertrude Jekyll'.
Please visit Bernideen's blog to see how the other participants are enjoying tea in their gardens.

  2. Judith,

What a cozy spot to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and read a magazine. I just love all the texture shade gardens have to offer. Your hosta is beautiful. I'm so glad you purchased your heat gun. I can't live without mine!

  4. Hello Judith,
This is such a beautiful corner in your garden. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a favorite magazine. The teacup is adorable and the scone with blueberries look so delicious.
Today I noticed that nigella flowers in my garden are blooming. They are simple yet such lovely flowers.
    Have a wonderful week!

  5. A very lovely venue, Judith. It looks peaceful and just the location for a quite cup of tea! I love the teacup you show, too. I bought three more vintage ones this week – I'd better stop! But maybe I'll join in one of these weeks.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend. We had sunshine and warm weather today but rain again now. – g

  7. We're having rain this evening, but I was able to be outside all day weeding and cleaning up. If we ever get some sunshine the veranda and patio will be clean and ready!
