Mother's Day Tea

Welcome my friends for tea this week..Mother's Day was beautiful weather wise here and we were taken out for a lovely lunch by our youngest daughter, husband and grands.  Below is the bouquet hubby gave to me.
My mother passed away right before Easter after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.  When she was well and still at home we all liked to picnic in the backyard for meals and barbecues.  During the years my parents spent 6 months in Florida, Mom would collect lots of shells.  These turquoise shells were from a wedding and had a candle to match.
I've taken out a Melamie mug that is not breakable and therefore a good choice while having tea outside and strolling the gardens. My favourite tea right now is Moroccan mint green tea and along with a scone, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Well, as Blogger is not working well for me today and I had to go to the old version to even load pictures, I am not going to frustrate myself further and hope everything comes out fine.  I 'll end by thanking Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for hosting Tea Time Tuesday.

  4. Stash tea is my favourite brand, and I also love mint teas of all sorts. Lovely seashells to remind you of lovely memories of your mom.

  5. I love Stash tea but haven't seen that flavour. I'm sorry about your mother. Mine passed away in 1993 of the same terrible disease. I'm glad you can get out and enjoy the garden as it's still cold and rainy here. Take care. Pamela

  8. Hello Judith,
I hope it was not to hard for you to celebrate Mother's Day, as she passed away recently. We all have to continue our way and once we have to go. I am sure your Mom is watching you and still connected with those, who love her. The shells represents the memories to her. I am very fond on shells and love also to collect them, although I donÄt know what to do with them. I plan to make something shellcrafted from mine, a mirror frame or something like that. Marrocan mince tea sounds very refreshing and your muffins look delicious, too. Wish you a wonderful week.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  11. Your seashell collection reminds me of how my parents also collected shells during their winters in florida...nice memories...and I have some in our bathroom.
Nice to have a cup of tea in the garden...but I always find that I just have to pull a few weeds or deadhead a bit, and the tea gets cold...oh, well, I like cold tea !
