Passion for Purple

I have finally been able to work out in the garden a bit as our weather has warmed up to more spring-like temperatures.  The first bulbs blooming are purple crocuses and iris reticulata but it won't be long until there are flowers in all shades of purple and lots of lavender.
Pictured is the first collage I ever made when I started linking with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.  It has been so much fun coming up with ideas each week so thank you Mary for hosting and challenging our imagination.

  1. I'm waiting for bulbs to bloom. My new house/garden is a total surprise. As long as the deer and the rabbits don't eat them all. I can't wait to see if I have crocus. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Be still my heart! Stunning! Since I too, have a passion for all shades of purple, I love, love, love this. I hate to ask, because I must be the only person who cannot figure this out, but is there any easy way to make a mosaic without using photoshop or photoshop elements. I bought PE but it is still giving me error messages when I try to download. Thank you for sharing this.

  4. Me again, instead of trying to explain how to do a mosaic, how about you teach me the names of these beautiful flowers. I may never be able to grow them in FL, but would love to be able to identify these beautiful plants. Long story how I could reach this age and only know the basic flowers, like lilac, mums, daisies, tulips, carnations etc etc but it is what it is and now I have a insatisible desire to learn. Nope not ashamed to admit that either.

  11. Oh that's cool to show the first. I am NEVER showing my first again. Ha! It must be wonderful to get out into the garden. We're still in mud so I must not get too eager lest I compact the dirt around the roots. Have a wonderful week!

  24. What a pretty mosaic !. It goes so well with your blog layout.
Thanks for the nice comment. Carpenter bees can do a lot of damage. I am more afraid of the wasps around here than of them. If they get to close, I just move. :D
    Enjoy your evening.

  26. Hi Judith! I never thought of you as having a passion for purple. I thought the "lavender" you are interested in was the plant. Of course, I know you are indeed interested in and have a lot of lavender plant in your yard. Interesting! What a pretty mosaic in purple/lavender!
