A Valentine's Tea Party

Welcome friends for tea this week, right on Valentine's Day.  Tea Time Tuesday is hosted by Sandi from Rose Chintz Cottage and I hope you'll brew yourself a cuppa to join us today.
Sandi has asked us to mention our favourite love song and I guess I'd have to say 'Love me Tender' by Elvis Presley; I could watch his movies over and over!
I hosted a Valentine tea party on Friday for some gardening friends and we had a great time catching up and talking about our garden plans for this year.
The table was set with 6 different pink teacups, tiered trays of finger sandwiches and scones.
My vintage centrepiece holds silk roses with candles on either side.
Pumpernickel hearts had strawberry cream cheese and strawberry hearts on them.
Instead of the usual currants, the scones had dried cranberries in them.
The tea table held 3 teapots with Lady Londonderry, Pecan Pastry green tea (as good as it sounds) and a ginger-peach herbal tea.
There just wasn't room on the tiered trays for goodies so they sat on my tea cart until we were ready.  Tiny tarts with raspberry jam, shortbread hearts, madelaines and chocolate covered honey hearts.  No dieting today!
I often have table gifts for my guests and the cello heart bags seen on the table contained homemade pink almond bark and a couple of heart-shaped lollipops.
A very Happy Valentine's Day to my friends that gather for tea each week.

  17. Hi Judith,
So it is true great minds do think alike Ha!Ha!

Your have set such a pretty table- I love those hearts with the cream cheese and strawberries.I am a copycat so they might show up at my next tea party.
I see you have a collection of pretty teapots too along with the tiered stands.
I wish I could have been there too-all that garden chit chat! I did have a new garden friend over on Sat. and we chatted up a storm for 4 hours.
It is very stormy here today-windy and drifting snow.
    Take care,

  25. I am a first time visitor to the Lavender Cottage. What a lovely tea you've prepared. My husband and I lived in northern Scotland from 1972 - 1975. I learned how to make a proper cuppa from Nana Hamilton, a wonderful generous woman who took a young Navy wife under her wing. I shall never forget her.

I invite you to visit my blog: www.summerwalkdesigns.com It's been a pleasure to visit yours.
