Tea with Friends - Pink Floral

October is a busy month for me with meetings and gatherings as our horticultural societies wind down for the winter.  I was off to my own garden club tonight and was taken by the gorgeous pink sky; such a gift of nature.

As I always carry my point and shoot Canon camera, I asked my friend that was driving to pull off to the side so I could take a picture.  To my eye, the pink came down to the horizon but the camera saw it differently.

Arriving back home I had to quickly prepare to set up tea for friends but couldn't use the dining room or kitchen table as they're covered with stuff from the kitchen reno.  So, I decided to use the new counter top.  Oh dear, the back is still unfinished, patchy drywall does not look good for a background so I stuck a blanket behind to cover this up.
Not very inventive I know, but it's getting late and I must put out the tea.

Almond biscotti and grapes to nibble on.....

I've used a black and pink Paragon cup and saucer with a pink floral cream and sugar set made by Corningware.  The little white bird was a gift from my husband and the dainty napkin is actually a vintage handkerchief.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and will now go over to Rose Chintz Cottage to have tea with Sandi and her guests, our host of Tea Time Tuesday.

I haven't participated in the Celebration of Victoria this week due to time but always like to send readers to A Delightsome Life where Kathy and her guests will inspire you with their stories of this wonderful magazine.

  4. Hi Judith,
what a wonderful sunset. I think, the nature in Canada has the most exiting colors, shown in the Indian Summer and in such sunsets. A real gift of nature.
I know how problematic a room renovation is, all the mess - but in the end it is a new room and you will enjoy to have everything fresh and clean.
Nevertheless your tea setting looks so pretty. The cup is so lovely and all is nicely decorated.
Wish you a very nice week.
    Greetings, Johanna

  5. Very pretty tea time!
Sunsets at this time of year are often overwhelmingly beautiful. Sunrise, too, can take the breath away.
