Mosaic Monday - The Birds & the Bees

Autumn brings flocks of birds preparing for their winter journey to warmer parts and the bees are still busy collecting pollen to take back to the hive for winter sustenance.  They really like the native chelone (turtlehead) and cultivars that bloom in the late summer to fall garden.
Echinacea seedheads are already being eaten by the gold finches which is why it is a good idea to leave them standing for the cold weather season.
The orange and black sky appears to be a preview for Halloween night.
I'm linking with Mary from Little Red House for Mosaic Monday and hope you'll visit her blog for some really inspiring collages.

  8. It's looking like autumn in your garden for sure. And I DO leave the echinacea seed heads out all winter. The goldfinches love them...and I like seeing the goldfinches. :)

  10. What a good suggestion about the echinacea being left for the birds. I'd never considered it as I find them unsightly. But for my feathered friends, I can be more generous next time.
