Tea with Friends - Pink in the Tea House

I thought that since the weather was accommodating, tea in the tea house with a pink theme would be nice today.  I've used a pink damask tablecloth and matching napkins that have butterflies on them to compliment the dark pink summer phlox seen in the background.  It looks red here but is in fact a dark fuchsia pink.

The cups and saucers I've used before but are the only two pink sets I have.  'Rose Bud' is on the left and 'Queen Mary' on the right.

There are mini pecan tarts and fresh picked blueberries to have with the tea.  The silver tea pot I inherited from my husband's late aunt and although it is beautiful on the outside, the inside is not so nice.  I've had a quote of $600 to resilver it and I can't justify parting with that much money when I have other teapots to use.

I enjoy tea with these friends each week and I hope you'll visit them too.

  1. Lovely, lovely tea, Judith! Wish I could really sit down with you there. What an amazing color that phlox is. I don't grow any although they do well in our area – just another thing I haven't managed to get planted. Thank you for sharing yours!

  2. Oh, Judith, you have so many interests and talents - gardening, decorating, tablescaping, writing, photography - it all shows in your blog! This is a lovely setting for tea. Beautiful tablecloths - both of them! I'm loving the pink - so feminine. Gorgeous teapot too. I'm not sure I'd want to pay $600 either, but you can still tablescape with it. It's fabulous! The tarts look good, too. Save me one and I'll have Earl Grey in the pretty teacup on the left. Have a wonderful week, Judith.
    Hugs, Beth

  19. What a lovely setting for a tea party. It reminds me of tea in the conservatory at Buchart Gardens. You were right - not enough sun for my peonies. It still hasn't flowered. Should I wait til the fall to move it? Thanks again for your advice!

  26. I love pink china! That cup with the black interior is so unique! My two sets of cherry blossom china are joined by bone china I purchased in Korea; it's an Asian pattern in blue... if I had more storage space I'm sure I could collect cups!
