Friday's Favourite - A Cloche Party

Marty from A Stroll Thru Life is hosting another cloche party.  I visited the blogs that took part in her last one and thought how much fun it would be to join the next time.  As a gardener, to me a cloche is used in the garden for tender plants and seedlings such as the antique one belonging to a friend shown below.

However, I was simply amazed at what some bloggers can do with a cloche and to what lengths they go to decorate them.  I've taken the few I have to show for this party and mine are pretty plain compared to what you'll see from others but at least you may be inspired yourself to join the fun next time.

I'm also linking with Claudia from Dipity Road who hosts Friday - Finding Beauty each week.

  16. Judith, Love the cloche with the kitties and the birds! Really adorable! You have a talent for creating something beautiful, be it in your garden (you really should link up to Yard Art Thursdays at workofthepoet.blogspot.com), or in your kitchen - I'm remembering the lovely tea you put on last week - or elsewhere in your home. You're quite artistic! I'm looking forward to receiving your package - THANK YOU!!! When I receive it I'll be posting about it. I had a guest food blogger this week - she is AWESOME - stop by if you have a chance.

  20. I'm seeing a lot more metal cloches this party. I really like your black one and the one w/the two birds on top. Your cardinal vignette is especially pretty.
I used a metal cloche in Marty's first cloche party. It will come out to play once again for her fall party this year.

  21. Hi, Judith,
You have used your cloches in very creative ways, showing nature is a wonderful way to use them for display. I also enjoyed seeing those beautiful roses from the rose exhibit. Your teacup was so lovely and charming along with the delicious scone and jam. I, too, love Victoria Magazine, very romantic!! Hope you have a terrific weekend, my friend~ Love and blessings to you~ Vicki

  22. I love cloches, and your collection is wonderful! I will have to keep an eye out for the metal ones - they would be perfect for helping me keep the bunnies from eating the blossoms off my flowers before they bloom! :)

Wishing you a lovely weekend, Judith!

  23. Hi Judith, I'm back, enjoying your cloches again. You did a fantastic job decorating with them. I don't have any cloches, nor do I have any charger plates for tablescaping. I need to work on that. They do add a decorative touch. Thanks for stopping by. I agree that cottage garden is absolutely appropriate for my larger garden. I also have (front of house) a rose garden, and an un-named garden on the side of the garage. You asked if I keep track of all my plants. I do try to label them. I didn't always do that, so I've lost cultivar names but usually can remember the common plant name. This year a friend gave us many daylilies - none with names attached; those things happen and I'm still very glad to have those lilies!
Last year I drew a map of the large garden and wrote in what I had as I tried to figure out where I would put the new plants I wanted to purchase. That worked well. It is a good thing to plan what you need and want and find a place for it; a better plan than just seeing something, liking it and buying it and then trying to find a place for it. However, I still do some of that. I have a long list of possibles for next year so am really trying to plan. I'm fortunate that we expanded our space because that gives me room for quite a few new plants! Have a great wknd, and thanks for stopping by. I would be interested in reading some of the articles you have written. You are a talented and kind person.
