Victorian Tea Party

Today Cielo is hosting a Victorian Tea Party in honour of Mother's Day.

We've each been asked to bring our own cup and saucer and  lily-of-the valley is what I'm taking.  I'll be wearing my pretty pearls and jade necklace and matching earrings.

We may be outside in Cielo's garden so I'll bring along my favourite garden hat made by Bonnielle, a Canadian lady who knows how to make us look fashionable.  The lily-of-the-valley from the garden was not quite ready but when the little white bells open, the fragrance is as dainty as the flowers.

Not to arrive empty handed, I baked madeleines that are a tea cake with a French origin and are perfect with their light dusting of icing sugar to have with a cup of tea.
Join Cielo at the House in Roses to come to this wonderful tea party that has women from all over the world attending.

  1. What a beautiful tea cup you have. I have been looking for one like that myself because they are the flowers for May Babies. Great party.

  9. The tea party sounds so elegant! My father went north to Alaska on a cruise after my mother died and he brought back pearls for all his "daughters". My pearls are exactly the same as yours!

  20. Lovely party arrangements. Really loved this pretty pearl and jade necklace along with the cup. Going to organize a tea party and thinking of planning it at LA venue. As it is one of best venues. Threw a great holiday party there last year. They provided amazing facilities.
