Friday's favourite - Cropcricket

If you've ever wondered what to do with unused garden accessories or related items other than regifting or having a garage sale, here's something that you might find interesting.
Cropcricket, a new online gardening classifieds has been developed by three men who all have an interest in gardening and skills specific to creating this project. It launched in Hamilton, Ontario on April 23, 2010 and they are finding it highly successful already.
A free forum is provided for gardeners to trade, buy or sell plants, gardening accessories or anything else that is related. There is (or will be) an area to advertise gardening events, promote gardening courses and to use as a source for local gardening services.
I perused the site and it couldn’t be easier to register and navigate to the various sections. There is a  link for suggestions too which, over time, should prove to enhance this free service very nicely.
Go to to have a look; it is currently serving Canada, the U.S. and U.K.

  1. Hello Judith... What a fun name cropcricket is! I thought you were going to tell me your beautiful iron piece was a cropcricket and I had no idea what that meant! You know have nicer words (and spellings) for thing up north!
Anyway... that sound like a fun site! I am bookmarking it on my desktop to poke at!

  2. That looks like it will be an interesting site when it gets going. I actually run a garden freecycle group in my local area and we have lots of action, especially during this time of the year.

  3. What a neat idea, I must check out this site. Thanks for sharing Judith.

  4. Thanks for the heads up! Love that little bauble on the brick wall. Very tasteful. ~karen
