A Year in Review

I didn't start my blog until July of this year so decided to include some of the photos that readers commented on or were favourites.  Gardening is my main theme but the garden rooms we create outside generally reflect the same decorating style that we have inside our homes.
A Year in Review is hosted by Cindy at My Romantic Home where her blog is just what the title says.  If Victoria is one of your favourite magazines, as it is for me, Cindy's home could be right out of the pages in it.  As a matter of fact, she is featured in the February issue of Romantic Homes magazine.
This year we lost 3 people close to us including my father and two wonderful neighbours from next door.  Our grandson dog Cocoa, a huge chocolate lab lost his battle with cancer too.
We're a small family and had many good times when we all got together during the year.  Our oldest grandson stayed with us for a month during the summer helping in our gardens and working towards his high school community hours at the arboretum.  With four granddaughters, there were tea parties with plenty of Grandma's scones.
From our home to yours, I wish everyone a happy, healthy new year.

  2. Your photos are beautiful. Your year has had it challenges, but it sounds like there were good times as well. We also lost our dog and she was especially missed this Christmas. All the best in the new year.

  12. Love your mosaic. So sorry about your losses this year. Wishing you a happy 2010! I love your shade garden in your new post. I have tons of shade and love ferns and hostas, but that plant with the pink flowers is a new one for me. I will have to get some of that!
