Friday's Favourite - Goldenrod 'Fireworks'

My favourite variety of solidago or goldenrod, as it is commonly known, is the cultivar 'Fireworks'.  You can see in the top picture why it has this name.  The dense waving stems of flowers keep it upright, even in the winter when it still looks nice and adds winter interest to the garden.

  1. What a clever idea! Some of my neighbors call me messy because I don't chop down many flowers in autumn. (They catch snow and that keeps them well-watered in my desert terrain.) Anyhoo, love the idea of showing the 2 seasons and why both work. :)

  2. Fireworks goldenrod is one of my favorite plants, too. I don't think mine caught as much snow as yours did, though. Lovely!
