Frosty weather

We had some of that white stuff here overnight which says that winter's on its way. The snow melted by early morning and the bird baths became free of ice with a little help.
Last week when we had a frost, some of the plants were so beautiful I had to take their picture. Above is 'Lo and Behold' the new miniature butterfly bush that is perfect for a container or in the ground like mine.
This leaf is so captivating with the frost on the scalloped edges. It is Potentilla Nepal 'Miss Willmot' that has peach coloured blooms held above the leaves in summer. I also have P. thurberi 'Monarch's Velvet' which is a deep red.
