Bloggers' Bloom Day November

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day is held on the 15th of each month and hosted by May Dreams Gardens.  This is a good opportunity for gardeners to stroll around their yard and see what's blooming at this time each month.  By November there isn't too much happening but I was able to find the Knautia macedonia by the front door with flowers and buds still waiting to open.
I also found a couple of buds on my carpet roses, some buried amongst the fallen maple leaves.

  1. Hi!
Found you through the May Dreams blog and since I am a HUGE lover of Lavender, I wanted to stop by and say hello!

I grow Knautia macedonia though she's done for the season but it sparked a big debate this summer. Is it a type of pincushion flower or do they just look very similar? Curious...

  2. I wish my Lavender looked that good when it blooms. In this climate I'm lucky to keep it alive from year to year. Like the looks of that Knautia macedonia, wonder if it would grow here? I'll look it up and see.

  3. I bought knautia seeds this year during the dreary middle of winter, but unfortunately they were one of the seed varieties I didn't get sown. Seeing yours has reminded me that I've got some knautia seeds for next year. Very nice!
