The New Tea House

We took down the pergola where all the bird feeders hung this summer and decided to build a gazebo for us to sit in at garden level. We have a large and fairly high deck on the back of the house that is great to see the whole yard but felt it would be much nicer to also have some seating right in the garden.
I like to think of it as my new tea house where I can sit for afternoon tea right beside the pond and inhale the fragrance of the nearby flowers. My husband doesn't think too much of this description for our new addition to the yard so he can enjoy it with his own beverage.
My new place for bird feeding is an area where we covered over a huge section of grass by first putting down newspaper and then covering it with mulch. Now I have to work on removing more grass to have pathways connecting to the existing ones and the various rooms of the garden.
